Manavtavadi (parampara ka diya naam)
The Humanitarian
Parampara me 9 ko sewa, karuna aur chakra ke ant se joda jata hai.
Parampara kya kehti hai
Parampara me 9 ko chakra ke ant ka ank kaha jata hai β aakhri single digit, isliye Western kitaabein ise poornata, vidai aur chhodne se jodti hain, aur us karuna se jo kisi ek ke liye nahi, sabke liye ho; wahi se 'humanitarian' naam aaya. Ye kitaabein ek ganit ki baat par bhi tikti hain: kisi sankhya me 9 jodo to digit-root wahi rehta hai, jise ve 'dene wala ank' kehti hain.
The tradition calls nine the number of completion: last of the single digits, so Western books read it as endings, letting go, and a compassion aimed at people in general rather than at one person β which is where the humanitarian label comes from. Those books also lean on an arithmetical quirk: adding nine to any number leaves its digit-root unchanged, glossed as the number that gives without taking. Indian ank jyotish counts nine as the mulank of those born on the 9th, 18th or 27th, places it under Mangal, and links it with heat, courage, conflict and red. Chaldean name tables leave nine out of the letter values and call it sacred. All of this is what the books assert β not a finding about any person, and not something established by the sources listed below.
- apne dayre se bahar tak jaane wali karuna β kitaabein 9 ke liye sabse pehle yahi ginati hain
- badi tasveer dekhne ka nazariya, parampara ke varnan me
- sahas aur ladne wali urja, Mangal wale jod se aayi hui
- shuru kiya kaam poora karke chhodna, 'poornata' wale vichar se
- gussa aur besabri β wahi kitaabein iska ulta pehlu aise batati hain
- purani baaton ko chhod na paana, jaisa parampara ise rakhti hai
- seva ko khud ko mita dene tak le jaana, kitaabon ki chetavani me
- har baat ko ladai bana dena, jise ve kamzori ke roop me ginati hain
Ye baat aayi kahan se
Is page me do alag dhaaraayein milti hain, aur donon me se koi bhi utni purani nahi jitni ye genre batata hai. Greek taraf: Pythagoras ne khud kuch nahi likha, aur unke matt ka vistrit vivran β Diogenes Laertius, Porphyry, Iamblichus β teesri sadi CE ka hai, unki mrityu ke karib 700-800 saal baad; is liye 9 ka koi 'Pythagorean' matlab hum tak seedha nahi pahunchta. Aaj wale angrezi matlab aur bhi naye hain: 20vi sadi se pehle is vidya ko 'arithmancy' kaha jata tha (ye shabd 1570s ka hai), aur 'numerology' shabd angrezi me karib 1907 se pehle darj nahi milta. Mrs L. Dow Balliett (1847-1929) ne 1904 se aage chhapi kitaabon me wo letter-value system banaya jisse aaj ke matlab aate hain, aur use Pythagoras ka apna batakar becha β unki 1904 ki kitaab ka naam hi hai 'A System of Numbers as Taught by Pythagoras'. 11/22/33 wale 'master number' purane maal me kahin nahi milte; ye sirf aadhunik kitaabon me aate hain aur reference kitaabein inhe New Age numerology ke khaate me daalti hain β par inke shuru hone ki koi tareekh neeche di gayi kisi source me tay nahi hai, is liye ye page koi tareekh nahi bata raha. Mangal wali baat us Greek dhaara ki hai hi nahi: wo alag Indian aur Chaldean grah parampara se aati hai, jo Cheiro (1866-1936) ki 'Book of Numbers' ke zariye bade paimane par angrezi me chhapi. Numerology ke lekhan me 'prachin' shabd jitna bojh uthata hai, utna sahara record me nahi hai.
Two separate lineages meet on this page, and neither is as old as this genre usually implies. On the Greek side: Pythagoras left no writings at all, and the detailed accounts of his doctrine β Diogenes Laertius, Porphyry, Iamblichus β were all written in the third century CE, roughly 700 to 800 years after his death, so no 'Pythagorean' meaning for nine reaches us first-hand. The modern English meanings are newer still: before the 20th century the practice was called arithmancy (a word dating to the 1570s), and 'numerology' itself is not recorded in English before about 1907. Mrs L. Dow Balliett (1847-1929) built the letter-value system these meanings come from in books published from 1904 onward, and sold it as Pythagoras' own β her 1904 title is 'A System of Numbers as Taught by Pythagoras'. The 11/22/33 'master number' doctrine is absent from the older material too; it appears only in the modern literature, where reference works file it under New Age numerology. No source listed below fixes a date for its introduction, so this page does not claim one. The Mangal rulership does not belong to the Greek lineage at all: it comes from the separate Indian and Chaldean planet tradition, which reached wide English print through Cheiro (1866-1936) and his 'Book of Numbers'. The word 'ancient' carries more weight in numerology writing than the record supports.

Ye sources itihaas ke liye hain β ki ye maanyata kab aur kahan likhi gayi. Koi source ye nahi bata sakta ki ek ank ka βmatlabβ kya hai, aur aisa dikhawa karna hi is vishay ki sabse badi bemaani hai.
