Parampara me ank 2 ko saath, santulan aur samvedansheelta se joda jata hai.
Parampara kya kehti hai
Paschimi paddhati me parampara ank 2 ko 1 ke baad ka mod maanti hai: pehla ank khud ko rakhta hai, doosra saamne wale ki taraf mudta hai. Is dhaara ke lekhak ise pahal karne wala nahi, sweekar karne wala batate hain β jodi, madhyasthata, intezaar. Bharatiya ank jyotish isi ank ko Chandra se jodta hai, isliye wahan zor kootniti par kam aur man, mood, kalpana aur utaar-chadhaav par zyada rehta hai. Dono taraf kathinai bhi naam se batayi gayi hai: parampara khud kehti hai ki is ank ki chhaya khud ko mita dena aur nirnay na le paana hai. Ye sab parampara ka daava hai, kisi vyakti ke baare me koi nishkarsh nahi; is panne ki shabd-soochiyan bhi usi sahitya ki bhasha hain, kisi ke baare me vivaran nahi.
In the Western system the tradition reads 2 as the turn that follows 1: the first number asserts, the second turns towards someone else. Writers in that line describe it as receptive rather than initiating β pairing, mediation, waiting instead of pushing. Indian ank jyotish routes the same number through Chandra, the Moon, so the emphasis shifts to mind, mood, imagination and tides that rise and fall rather than to diplomacy. Both sides also name a difficulty: the tradition itself calls this number's shadow self-erasure and an inability to decide. All of this is what the literature claims, not a finding about any person; the keyword lists on this page are that literature's vocabulary, not a description of anyone.

Ye baat aayi kahan se
Pythagoreans ank 2 ko 'Dyad' kehte the, yaani anyata ka siddhant. Par Pythagoras (lagbhag 570-495 BCE) ka apna likha kuch bhi nahi bacha, aur ye vyakhya humein Numenius of Apamea se milti hai β doosri sadi CE ka uttarardh, kareeb saat sau saal baad. Numenius ke anusaar Dyad ka matlab 'matter' tha, Monad ke saamne rakha gaya; usme 'diplomat' ya kisi swabhav-varnan jaisa kuch nahi tha. Angrezi wali swabhav-suchi bahut naya hai: Mrs. L. Dow Balliett (1847-1929), ek American lekhika jo New Thought halqon me thi, ne 1904 me 'How to Attain Success Through the Strength of Vibration' chhapi, aur aadhunik shaili ki numerology banane ka shreya unhe diya jata hai. 'Numerology' shabd hi angrezi me 1907 se pehle darj nahi. 11 ko master ank maan kar 2 me na todne ka niyam bhi isi aadhunik lokpriya sahitya ka hai, kisi prachin granth ka nahi β jaanche gaye srot iski tareekh ya janmdata tay nahi karte; 33 to 11 aur 22 se bhi baad ka jodne wala ank hai aur school aaj bhi ispar bant-e hue hain. Bharat ki ank-graha taalika angrezi paathakon tak mukhyat: Cheiro (William John Warner, 1866-1936) ki kitabon se pahunchi, jo ise 'Chaldean' kehte the aur kehte the ki unhone ise Bharat me seekha β ye unka apna kathan hai, waisa hi darj. Jaanche gaye srot is taalika ko shastriya Jyotish tak nahi le jaate, isliye ise 'prachin' kehna jitna maalum hai usse zyada daava karna hai.
Pythagoreans called two the Dyad, the principle of otherness β but no authentic writing of Pythagoras (c. 570 β c. 495 BCE) survives, and that gloss reaches us through Numenius of Apamea in the later second century CE, roughly seven centuries afterwards. Numenius reports the Dyad as matter, set against the Monad; nothing in it resembles a 'diplomat' or any reading of character. The trait catalogue in English is far younger. Mrs. L. Dow Balliett (1847-1929), an American writer who moved in New Thought circles, published 'How to Attain Success Through the Strength of Vibration' in 1904 and is credited with creating the modern style of numerology. The word 'numerology' itself is not recorded in English before about 1907. The master-number rule that keeps 11 from reducing to 2 belongs to this modern popular literature rather than to any ancient source; the sources checked here do not fix a date or an originator for it, and 33 is a later addition than 11 and 22, with schools still disagreeing on whether it counts at all. India's number-planet table reached English readers chiefly through the books of Cheiro (William John Warner, 1866-1936), who called it Chaldean and said he had learned it in India β his own account, recorded as such. The sources checked do not trace that table to classical Jyotisha texts, so calling any of this 'ancient' claims more than is known.
