Antarjnani
The Intuitive
Parampara me is ank ko antarjnan, prerna aur bheetari khinchav se joda jata hai.
Parampara kya kehti hai
Western system me 11 ko toda nahi jata, poora rakha jata hai, aur ise master ank kehte hain - aksar 'the Intuitive', kabhi 'the Illuminator'. Us dhaara ke lekhak ise antarjnan, prerna, aadarshvad aur samvedansheelta se jodte hain, aur rozmarra zindagi vs kisi badi cheez ke beech ke khinchav se. Wahi kitaben iski dikkat bhi ginati hain: nervous tanav, khud par shak, aur zameen se kate vichar. Bharatiya ank jyotish is ank ko alag padhta hai - zyadatar Hindi kitaben 11 ko ghata kar 2 karti hain aur Chandra se padhti hain, jabki Cheiro ki Chaldean compound list, jo Bharatiya ank-lekhan me khoob chalti hai, 11 ko chhipe khatron, pareeksha aur dhokhe ka ashubh ank batati hai. Upar di gayi soochiyan inhi kitabon ki jodi hui sangatiyan hain. Dono dhaarayein ek mat nahi hain, aur ye kisi vyakti ke baare me koi kathan nahi hai.
In the Western system 11 is kept whole rather than reduced, and is called a master number - most often 'the Intuitive', sometimes 'the Illuminator'. Writers in that stream associate it with intuition, inspiration, idealism and sensitivity, and with a pull between ordinary life and something larger. The same books name its difficulties: nervous tension, self-doubt, and ideas that never quite reach the ground. Indian ank jyotish reads 11 quite differently. Most Hindi handbooks reduce it to 2 and read it through Chandra, while Cheiro's Chaldean compound list, which circulates widely in Indian numerology writing, calls 11 an ominous number of hidden dangers, trial and treachery. The lists above are the associations those books draw, nothing more. The two streams do not agree with each other, and neither is a statement about any actual person.

Ye baat aayi kahan se
11 ka 'master ank' hona naya hai, prachin nahi. Mrs L. Dow Balliett (1847-1929) ne 1904 se angrezi wala system khada kiya aur use 'a System of Numbers as Taught by Pythagoras' kehkar chhapa - Pythagoras ka naam unka apna framing tha, koi pramanit parampara nahi. 'Numerology' shabd khud angrezi me lagbhag 1907 se pehle darj nahi milta. 11 aur 22 ko na todne ka niyam bees-vi sadi ke us angrezi sahitya ka hissa hai jo unke system se nikla; neeche di gayi sources se yah tay nahi hota ki yah niyam sabse pehle kisne likha, ya 33 kab is soochi me juda. Pythagoras ne khud kuch likha hi nahi - Stanford ki entry kehti hai ki unke samkalin kisi source ne, ya unki maut ke pehle do sau saal me kisi ne, unki koi kitab quote nahi ki; aur wahan vidwanon me is par bhi matbhed hai ki ank-prateekvad Pythagoras se aaya ya baad ki Neopythagorean dhaara se. Ank-grah wali Bharatiya table alag raste se aayi, mukhyata Cheiro (1866-1936) ke zariye, jinhone kaha tha ki unhone Chaldean ank vidya Bharat me seekhi, aur unki 'Book of Numbers' se; us kitab ke shuruati sanskaran bina tarikh ke hain aur library catalogue alag-alag saal dete hain, isliye yahan koi ek saal nahi diya gaya.
The master-number status of 11 is modern, not ancient. Mrs L. Dow Balliett (1847-1929) built the English-language system from 1904, publishing it as 'a System of Numbers as Taught by Pythagoras'; that attribution was her own framing rather than a documented lineage. The word 'numerology' itself is not recorded in English before about 1907. The rule that 11 and 22 are left unreduced belongs to the 20th-century English-language literature that grew out of her system - the sources below do not establish who first stated it, or when 33 joined the list. Pythagoras himself wrote nothing: the Stanford entry records that no source contemporaneous with him, or in the first two hundred years after his death, quotes a work by him, and scholars there disagree over whether number symbolism traces to Pythagoras at all rather than to the later Neopythagorean tradition. The Indian number-to-graha table came by a separate route, largely via Cheiro (1866-1936), who said he learned Chaldean numerology in India, and his 'Book of Numbers'; early editions of that book are undated and library catalogues give differing years, so none is stated here.
