Nirmata
The Builder
Parampara me char ko dhaanche, tarike aur tikaun kaam se joda jata hai.
Parampara kya kehti hai
Western ank vidya ke akshar-value wale system me 4 ko dhaanche ka ank kaha jata hai - tarika, niyam, routine, aur aisa kaam jo tik jaye; isi liye ise 'Builder' ka naam mila. Iske chinh chaukor aur zameeni hain: chaar kone, chaar tatva, chaar dishayein. Bharatiya ank jyotish, jisme mulank aam taur par janm-tithi se nikala jata hai na ki naam ke akshar se, 4 ko Rahu se jodta hai aur tasveer bilkul alag banata hai - achanak mod, alag soch, bechaini, ke saath tez yaadasht. Dono school ank par sehmat hain, mizaaj par nahi. Khud parampara 4 ke saath jo dikkatein ginati hai wo hain akadpan, badlav se katrana, aur plan se zyada chipakna. Upar di gayi soochiyan is ank ke prateek-shabd hain - ye kisi vyakti ka vivaran nahi hain, na kisi janm-tithi wale insaan ke baare me koi bhavishyavani. Ye sab parampara ki maanyata hai, koi naapa hua tathya nahi.
Western numerology's letter-value system treats four as the number of structure: the tradition associates it with method, order, routine and work that is meant to last, and usually calls it the Builder. Its symbol vocabulary is square and earthbound - four corners, four elements, four directions. Indian ank jyotish, in which the mulank is usually taken from the birth date rather than from name letters, gives four to Rahu and paints it quite differently: sudden turns, unconventional thinking, restlessness alongside sharp memory. The two schools agree on the digit and disagree on the temperament. The tensions the tradition itself names for four are rigidity, resistance to change and over-attachment to a plan. The lists above are the tradition's symbol vocabulary for the number; they are not descriptions of any person, and nothing here forecasts anyone's character or events. All of it is claimed meaning, not measured fact.

Ye baat aayi kahan se
4 ka 'Builder' wala matlab English me utna purana nahi jitna bataya jata hai. Aaj ka system - akshar ki value, life-path jod, har ank ka fix matlab - America me 1904 ke aas-paas banna shuru hua, mukhyatah Mrs L. Dow Balliett (1847-1929) ke zariye. Dilchasp baat: unki 1904 ki kitab ka naam hi tha 'a System of Numbers as Taught by Pythagoras' - yani shuru se hi ise prachin bataya gaya. Master numbers 11, 22 aur 33 aadhunik lokpriya numerology ki parat hain (reference kaam inhe New Age practice me rakhte hain), prachin Pythagorean samagri ka hissa nahi. Grah wali jodi aur baad ki aur aur dhili hai: Western digit-grah scheme ka shreya aam taur par Cheiro (1866-1936) ko diya jata hai, lekin unki 'Book of Numbers' ke catalogue me darj sanskaran 1930s se milte hain, aur jodiyan sanskaran-dar-sanskaran badalti hain. Jahan koi scheme 4 ko Uranus deti hai, wo jodi 1781 se purani ho hi nahi sakti.
The four-as-builder reading in English is young. Pythagoras left no writings - no authentic text of his survives, and what is reported about Pythagorean number symbolism comes from writers working centuries later. Wikipedia's own article separates that ancient material from what is marketed today as 'Pythagorean numerology'. The modern system of letter values, life-path sums and fixed digit meanings was assembled in America from about 1904 onward, chiefly by Mrs L. Dow Balliett (1847-1929). Tellingly, her 1904 book was titled 'How to attain success through the strength of vibration; a System of Numbers as Taught by Pythagoras' - the antiquity was part of the pitch from the beginning. Master numbers 11, 22 and 33 belong to modern popular numerology, which reference works place in New Age practice; they are not part of the ancient Pythagorean material. The planet pairings are later still and looser than usually claimed: the Western digit-planet scheme is generally credited to Cheiro (1866-1936), but catalogued editions of his Book of Numbers date from the 1930s and the pairings vary between editions and schools. Where a scheme pairs 4 with Uranus, that pairing cannot predate 1781.
