Besan-haldi ka ubtan
Besan and turmeric ubtan
Besan, ek chutki haldi aur dahi ka paste - shaadi ki haldi se lekar ghar-ghar tak, tan aur nikhaar ke liye. Parampara purani hai, sabooth nahi mila.
Kya chahiye
- 2 chammach besan
- 1 chutki haldi
- 1-2 chammach dahi ya doodh
- thoda gulab jal ya paani
Kaise banate hain
Besan, haldi aur dahi ko milakar gaadha paste banayein; zaroorat ho to gulab jal se thoda patla kar lein. Pehli baar kalai ke andar thoda laga kar 24 ghante dekhein - haldi kuch logon me laali aur khujli kar deti hai. Phir saaf chehre ya haathon par patli tah lagayein, 10-15 minute rakhein aur poora sookhne se pehle ungliyan geeli karke halke se chhuda lein. Aankh aur hoth se door rakhein. Thande paani se dho kar moisturiser lagayein. Hafte me ek ya do baar se zyada nahi. Nimbu ka ras na milayein - dhoop me jaakar jalan aur kaale daag ho sakte hain. Yeh sirf bahar lagane ke liye hai, khaane ke liye nahi.
Mix the gram flour, turmeric and curd into a thick paste, loosening it with rose water if needed. The first time, dab a little inside your wrist and wait 24 hours - turmeric makes some people red and itchy. Then spread a thin layer on clean skin of the face or hands, leave it 10-15 minutes, and wet your fingers to loosen it before it dries hard. Keep it away from the eyes and lips. Rinse with cool water and moisturise. Once or twice a week at most. Do not add lemon juice - with sun on the skin it can cause burns and dark marks. This is for the skin only, not for eating.
Parampara kya kehti hai
Ubtan shaadi se pehle ki haldi rasm ka hissa hai aur ghar-ghar me tan halka karne, rang nikharne aur roye kam karne ke liye lagaya jaata hai. Kaha jaata hai ki besan mail kheench leta hai aur haldi daag halke karti hai. Yeh dawa ke roop me nahi, ek purani saundarya-parampara ke roop me chalta aaya hai.
Ubtan belongs to the haldi ritual before a wedding, and to ordinary homes, where it is applied to lift a tan, brighten the complexion and soften body hair. The claim is that gram flour pulls out grime and turmeric fades marks. It has come down as a beauty custom, not as medicine.
Shodh kya kehti hai
Sirf parampara
Ubtan ko tan ya rang ke liye kisi dhang ke human clinical trial me nahi jaancha gaya - humein aisa koi adhyayan nahi mila. Curcumin par 2023 ka ek systematic review (Archives of Dermatological Research) 18 randomised trials jodta hai, par wo psoriasis, radiation dermatitis, oral lichen planus, vitiligo, tinea capitis aur nishan (scarring) par hain - tan, nikhaar ya ubtan par ek bhi nahi. NCCIH khud kehta hai ki abhi itna pata nahi ki haldi ya curcumin kisi bhi rog me faydemand hai, aur Wikipedia ke turmeric page ke mutabik kisi bhi rog ke liye high-quality clinical sabooth nahi hai. Aur MedlinePlus yaad dilata hai ki tan khud dhoop se hui skin damage ki nishani hai - koi paste us damage ko wapas nahi karta.
Ubtan has never been put through a proper human clinical trial for tan or complexion - we found no such study. A 2023 systematic review of curcumin in Archives of Dermatological Research pooled 18 randomised trials, but they cover psoriasis, radiation dermatitis, oral lichen planus, vitiligo, tinea capitis and scarring - not one of them on tanning, brightening or ubtan. NCCIH itself says we do not know enough to conclude turmeric or curcumin is beneficial for any health purpose, and Wikipedia's turmeric page notes there is no high-quality clinical evidence for turmeric in any disease. And MedlinePlus is blunt that a tan is itself a sign of sun damage - no paste undoes that.
