Jeera paani
Cumin water
Raat bhar bhigoya ya ubaala hua jeera ka paani, subah khaali pet. Pachan aur pet phoolne ke liye ghar me sabse zyada piya jaane wala nuskha. 5 saal se chhote bachchon ke liye nahi.
Kya chahiye
- 1 chammach jeera
- 1 glass paani
Kaise banate hain
Do tarike hain. Bhigo kar: ek chammach jeera ek glass paani me raat bhar bhigo dein, subah chaan kar khaali pet pi lein. Ubaal kar: ek chammach jeera ek glass paani me daal kar 5 minute ubaalein, chaan lein aur halka garam ya thanda pi lein. Din me ek se do glass kaafi hai. Bacha hua paani fridge me bhi 24 ghante se zyada na rakhein. Jeera bhoon kar bhi istemaal hota hai, swad behtar lagta hai. 5 saal se chhote bachchon ko khaali pet jeera paani na dein - khaane me pada jeera aur baat hai, ghol kar dena aur. Sugar ki dawa ya insulin chal rahi ho to shuru me sugar naapte rahein, jeera sugar thoda gira sakta hai. Yaad rakhein ki yeh khaane-peene ki cheez hai, kisi dawa ki jagah lene ke liye nahi.
There are two ways. Soaked: put a spoon of cumin in a glass of water overnight, strain in the morning and drink it on an empty stomach. Boiled: add a spoon of cumin to a glass of water, boil for 5 minutes, strain and drink it warm or cool. One or two glasses a day is enough. Do not keep leftover cumin water more than 24 hours, even in the fridge. Roasting the cumin first improves the taste. Do not give cumin water on an empty stomach to a child under 5 - cumin cooked into food is one thing, a concentrated soak is another. If you are on diabetes medicine or insulin, check your sugar readings for the first few days, as cumin may lower it a little. Remember this is food and drink, not a substitute for prescribed medicine.
Parampara kya kehti hai
Ayurved me jeera ko deepan-pachan bataya gaya hai, yaani jo bhookh aur pachan badhaye. Ghar me kaha jaata hai ki subah khaali pet jeera paani peene se pet saaf rehta hai, gas nahi banti aur wazan bhi kam hota hai. Aajkal social media par ise wazan ghatane ka tarika bhi bataya jaata hai. Yeh sab daave hain, pramaan nahi.
Ayurveda classes cumin as a digestive stimulant that improves appetite and digestion. Households say cumin water on an empty stomach keeps the stomach clear, stops gas forming and even helps with weight. Social media now pushes it as a weight-loss drink as well. All of these are claims, not proof.
Shodh kya kehti hai
Sirf parampara
Pachan se seedha juda ek hi human study mila, aur wo bhi case series thi - yaani sabse kamzor kism ka adhyayan: 2013, Iran, IBS ke 50 mareez, 4 hafte tak roz cumin extract ki 20 boond. Pet dard aur afara kam hua, par is study me placebo ya control group tha hi nahi - khud lekhak likhte hain ki nateeje jaanchne ke liye placebo-controlled study zaroori hai.
Only one human study directly about digestion turned up, and it was a case series - the weakest study design there is: Iran, 2013, 50 IBS patients given 20 drops of cumin extract daily for 4 weeks. Pain and bloating fell, but the study had no placebo or control group at all, and the authors themselves write that placebo-controlled studies are needed to verify their result. Without a control group, the improvement cannot be credited to the cumin. No trial of plain cumin water was found. Wikipedia also states there is no high-quality evidence cumin is safe or effective as a therapeutic agent. There is no data in children.
