Pudine ka tel ya balm maathe par
Peppermint oil or balm on the forehead
Sar dard hone par maathe aur kanpati par patla kiya hua pudine ka tel ya menthol wala balm halke se malna. Thandak mehsoos hoti hai aur kai logon ko kuch der aaram lagta hai. Ye bado aur bade bachcho ke liye hai.
Kya chahiye
- 2-3 boond pudine ka tel (peppermint oil)
- 1 chammach naariyal ya til ka tel (patla karne ke liye)
- ya menthol wala balm, matar ke dane jitna
Kaise banate hain
Pudine ka tel bahut tez hota hai, isliye do-teen boond ko ek chammach naariyal ya til tel me milakar patla karein. Bina patla kiye seedha khaal par kabhi na lagayein. Pehle kohni ke andar ki khaal par thoda lagakar das minute dekh lein ki jalan to nahi ho rahi. Phir ungli se maathe, dono kanpatiyon aur gardan ke peeche halke se lagayein aur dhire-dhire gol haath se malein. Aankh se door rakhein, aankh me chala jaye to bahut jalta hai; chala jaye to khoob saara saada paani ya doodh se dhoyein. Lagane ke baad haath dho lein. Din me do-teen baar se zyada nahi. Balm aur tel ki shishi bachcho ki pahunch se door rakhein, aur nigalna kabhi nahi. Saath me shaant, andhere kamre me bees minute lete rehna madad karta hai. Agar sar dard hafte me do baar se zyada ho raha hai ya har hafte dawa leni pad rahi hai to doctor se milna chahiye.
Peppermint oil is strong, so dilute two or three drops in a teaspoon of coconut or sesame oil. Never put it on the skin neat. Test it first on the inside of your elbow and wait ten minutes to check it does not sting. Then dab it on the forehead, both temples and the back of the neck with a fingertip and rub in slow circles. Keep it well away from the eyes, as it burns badly if it gets in; if it does, rinse with plenty of plain water or milk. Wash your hands afterwards. Not more than two or three times a day. Keep balm and oil bottles out of children's reach, and never swallow either. Lying in a quiet dark room for twenty minutes helps alongside it. If headaches are coming more than twice a week, or you are needing painkillers every week, see a doctor about it.
Parampara kya kehti hai
Sar dard hote hi balm ya pudine ka tel uthana Bharat me lagbhag reflex hai. Kaha jata hai ki thandak nason ko aaram deti hai aur 'garmi kheench leti hai', aur bahut log kehte hain ki champi ke saath ye aur achha lagta hai. Ghar me ye tension wale aur garmi wale, dono tarah ke sar dard par lagaya jata hai. Ye anubhav aur parampara ki baat hai.
Reaching for balm or mint oil the moment a head starts aching is close to a reflex in India. The claim is that the coolness settles the nerves and 'draws out the heat', and many say it feels better along with a head massage. Households use it for both tension headaches and heat headaches. This rests on custom and personal experience.
Shodh kya kehti hai
Sabut milta-julta hai
Sabut dono taraf hai. NCCIH kehta hai ki thoda-bahut research bataata hai ki khaal par lagaya pudine ka tel tension-type sar dard me aaram de sakta hai, aur asar shayad menthol ki thandak se aata hai. Doosri taraf, 2024 ke ek meta-analysis me migraine par saat randomised trials aur 558 log dekhe gaye, jisme lavender, pudina, gulab aur chamomile jaise tel the, aur placebo se koi farq nahi mila. Yaani tension wale sar dard me shayad kuch, migraine me kuch sabit nahi. Isi liye grade 'mixed' hai.
The evidence cuts both ways. NCCIH says a small amount of research suggests topically applied peppermint oil might relieve tension-type headache, probably through menthol's cooling effect. On the other side, a 2024 meta-analysis of seven randomised trials and 558 people looked at essential oils for migraine, including lavender, peppermint, rose and chamomile, and found no difference against placebo. So: possibly something for tension headache, nothing demonstrated for migraine. Hence the mixed grade.
