Selection process

1. 1Tier-I (Computer Based Examination)Candidates will be shortlisted for Tier-II Examination on the basis of their performance in Tier-I Examination. Normalized scores of candidates will be used to determine merit and for final selection. There may be separate category-wise cut-offs in Tier-I and subsequent Tiers for different posts.
2. 2Minimum qualifying marksMinimum qualifying marks in Tier-I, and Section-I, Section-II and Section-III of Tier-II Examination: UR 30%, OBC/EWS 25%, All other categories 20%.
3. 3Tier-II Session-I (Section-I, Section-II, Section-III)Tier-II Examination will be conducted for all the candidates qualified in Tier-I. In Tier-II, all the candidates will be required to appear in all four sections, and it is mandatory to qualify all the sections. Based on the aggregate performance in Section-I and Section-II, candidates will be shortlisted for evaluation of Section-III and Section-IV; those not qualified in Section-I + Section-II will not be eligible for evaluation of Section-III & Section-IV and will not be considered for further selection process.
4. 4Tier-II Session-II (Section-IV: Skill Test/ Typing Test)Section-III and Section-IV i.e. Computer Knowledge Test and Skill Test/ Typing Test are qualifying in nature. Skill Test for DEOs is mandatory for all the qualified candidates. Typing Test for posts other than DEOs is mandatory for all candidates except those exempted from appearing in the Typing Test (permanently unfit due to physical disability, with prior approval of the Commission and the prescribed certificate).
5. 5Post preference (Online Option Form)Preference for various posts and departments will be taken from candidates through Online Option Form on the website of the Commission before declaration of final result. A candidate will not be considered for a Post and Ministry/Department/Organization if he has not indicated his preference for it. Candidates who do not submit post preferences within the stipulated time will not be considered for any post in the Final Result.
6. 6Merit listMerit list will be prepared on the basis of overall performance of candidates in Tier-II Examination only, on the basis of aggregate marks scored in Section-I & Section-II of Tier-II examination only, subject to qualifying Section-III and Section-IV of Tier-II as per the qualifying standards fixed by the Commission.
7. 7Final selection and post allotmentFinal selection of candidates, in each category, will be made on the basis of 'overall performance in Tier-II Examination' and 'preference of posts' exercised by them. Once the candidate has been given his first available preference, as per his merit, he will not be considered for any other option. The final allotment of posts is made on the basis of merit-cum-preferences of Posts/Departments.
8. 8Resolution of tie casesIn the event of tie in scores in Tier-II examination, merit is decided by applying, in order: (1) Marks scored in Section-I of Tier-II Examination, (2) Marks scored in Tier-I Examination, (3) Date of birth, with older candidates placed higher.
9. 9Document Verification (DV)Document Verification (DV) will be conducted by the User Ministries/Departments/Organizations after declaration of the final result.
