Tier 2
Paper I is compulsory for every candidate who clears Tier 1. Papers II and III are taken only by candidates who applied for those specific posts.

Selection process
- 1Tier 1 — computer-based, qualifying for Tier 2
- 2Tier 2 — Paper I for all; Paper II and III for specific posts
- 3Document verification and medical examination where applicable
There is no interview stage. Interviews for Group B non-gazetted and Group C posts were abolished with effect from 1 January 2016, so the final merit list is built from written performance alone.

Kaise tayari karein
- The 15-minute sectional timing changes how you practise. You cannot bank saved time from Reasoning to spend on Quant, so each section needs its own pacing.
- Negative marking is 0.50 in Tier 1 — a blind guess costs a quarter of what a correct answer earns. Educated elimination is worth it; pure guessing is not.
- Previous-year papers are the single best predictor of question style. Work them under timed conditions, not as an open-book exercise.
- General Awareness rewards steady daily reading far more than last-month cramming, because the syllabus is unbounded.
- Do not prepare for an interview. There is not one.
Pay
Posts sit at different pay levels under the 7th Pay Commission — commonly Level 4 through Level 8 depending on the post. Gross pay also depends on the city classification for HRA, and take-home differs from gross after NPS and other deductions.
Salary figures circulated on social media are usually gross-at-maximum-HRA and rarely reflect what actually reaches the account. The pay level for each post is printed in the notification.
